Fun and Games – The Victorians at Leisure

What were our Victorian ancestors getting up to in their leisure time? Following the 1850 Factory Act, work for many would finish at 2pm on Saturdays; the more well-off had more time for favourite pursuits, of course. This illustrated talk looks at how various artists depicted popular past-times – with just a hint of other things bubbling beneath the surface, perhaps?
